Kade Vander Molen grew up in Pella, Iowa, where he was a five-year starter and letter winner in baseball at Pella Christian. In his 2018 senior campaign, he hammered seven home runs, the second-highest single season home run total in school history. Kade earned a scholarship to play baseball at junior college powerhouse and three-time NJCAA DI national champion Iowa Western Community College where he battled an elbow injury that eventually required Tommy John surgery in 2019.

He transferred to Taylor University in Upland, IN, and is entering his fourth year as a starter for the nationally ranked Trojans. Last year Kade and his team won the Crossroads League tournament and earned a berth in the NAIA World Series Opening Round, where they were awarded one of 10 regional host sites. Kade’s hitting approach has been impacted by nationally renowned hitting coach Pete Lauritson who has revolutionized the industry with his SwingFaster program that focuses on increasing bat speed, exit velocity, and total distance.
